It was no secret that this player has tremendous potential. He is not just physically very strong, but also has great technical abilities, and combined with his scoring instinct he spells trouble for all defenders. This season in particular he is living up to all that was expected from him. A great striker that will make us enjoy watching him in his goal scoring run.
Enjoy!

One on One Master Romario!!!
He scores and scores and scores! At 41 years Romario keeps scoring goals and he has reached this year the 1000 career goals mark. I still remember his time at Barcelona, waiting in the front for that deadly pass. One on one he was almost unstoppable. Just watch for yourself.

Freekick master Juninho P.
A true master of the freekick. Many talk about Beckham when thinking about freekicks and don't get me wrong I agree that Becks is amazing, but in my opinion Juninho is even better. He can put the ball into the net in so many ways: far, short, curled, straight, right, left. Goalies are scared whenever he gets ready to take one. He may not be as pretty as Becks, but god lord can he strike that ball. See for yourself!!! Who is the best?

Antonio Puerta you will be always in our hearts!!
Today I have very sad news. As mentioned in my previous post, Antonio Puerta was hospitalized since Saturday and unfortunately left us all last night. He is leaving behind his pregnant girlfriend, family and thousands of fans. He was one of Spain's most promising players at just 22 years and will definitely leave a big gap in all our hearts. I wish his family and friends all the best and hope he watches down on us from above. I apologize for my bad writing, but it is not easy to find the right words. I am sure he wants us to remember him as the player he was. RIP Antonio.

Recover soon Antonio Puerta!!!
Sevilla left back Antonio Puerta collapsed during Saturdays game against Getafe. The 22 year old recovered and left the field after the incident. Unfortunatelly, he had a cardiorespiratory arrest in the locker rooms and was taken to the Hospital where he suffered a few more incidents. He is still in intensive care and we all hope that he will recover soon. He is a promising Spanish player and more important, known to be a great guy. Recover soon Puerta, we are all with you.

FC Sevilla - great job done!!!
I have to congratulate FC Sevilla for winning this weekend the Spanish Supercup. "Smaller teams" often don't get the recognition they deserve in world soccer. FC Sevilla has won 5 titles in the last 15 month, including two UEFA cups in a row. Furthermore, they have done it playing "sexy" soccer and with a budget that is just a fraction compared to other big names.
Their owner Del Nido may sound quite cocky at times (he really seems to be), but he has a right considering the success of his team. Last year they were voted "Best Team in the World 2006".
They have been also very successful in buying less known players at very economical rates and selling them later for a huge profit. My respects to FC Sevilla, they have been doing something right.

Good start for Torres!!
The most expensive transfer of this summer, till now, Fernando Torres, has had a great start scoring a very nice goal against Chelsea in front of his home crowd at Anfield. The Spanish striker has everything to succeed in the Premier League but only time will tell if he will be worth the 36million Euro they paid for him. Good start Fernando, keep the goals coming.
Do you think F. Torres will be triumphant at Liverpool?

Zidane Rumors!!!
In the last few weeks there have been rumors that the LA Galaxy wants to bring Zidane to the MLS to join Becks. They are talking about the same numbers as for Becks ($50m per year). However, it seems that it is just a rumor, but nevertheless take a look at this master. He surely is one of the greats this sport has given us.

Tevez and Sneijder move!!!
Carlos Tevez has arrived this weekend at Man U. The summer drama is finally over and it will be interesting to see the impact he will have with his new team.
Furthermore, Dutch mid-fielder Wesley Sneijder is going to Real Madrid for 25million Euros (about $33m). The Dutchman is expected to be one of the key playmakers at Real and hopefully add his fair share of goals as well. He is known for being especially dangerous from outside the box, as he can place the ball into the net with either of his legs from a long distance. We are looking forward to see some spectacular goals from this skilled player.

Keeper of the gate!!!
Most people focus only on forwards or mid-fielders, but we should never forget the goalkeepers. They are crucial to the game but often forgoten when talking about the great ones. A good keeper is worth gold and can be decisive to the success of the team.
Here is a video that shows some great saves. Honor the keeper!

Drenthe to Madrid!!!
Dutch younster Royston Drenthe will make his switch into La Liga as Real Madrid has made his transfer official. He will leave Feyenoord for 14million Euros (about $19m). The attacking left back reminds of Roberto Carlos in his style as he is very explosive and fast. Furthermore he can also play as left wing, which gives Schuster some more options on the left side. He still has to pass the physical exam this weekend and is supposed to be presented on Monday. I look forward to see if he lives up to all the hype, but he seems promising.

Carlos Valderrama - a 10 to remember!!!
Once in a while I like to go back to the past and remember some of the greats of this sport. One of my favorite mid-fielders is Carlos Valderrama. The young ones will probably be not too familiar with him as he played in the late 80s and 90s. He was the classical playmaker, very skilled, with a deadly pass and nice freekick as well. He just had that field vision that takes apart the defense and furthermore, you can't beat the hairstyle, hehe.
In my opinion, nowadays Riquelme, on his good days, plays with a similar style. What do you think?
By the way, the video is good, but it does not really show how good he was, believe me.

Tevez, where will you go?
One of the dramas of the summer has been the future of Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez. A number of clubs have shown interest in him, with Manchester United toping that list. The question is, if Tevez end up at Man. U. and form a vicious attack with Rooney and C. Ronaldo. It surely would be fun to watch. What do you think, where will Tevez end up, or where should he go?

Mexican Samba!!!
Giovanni dos Santos is a name to watch in world soccer. This 18 year old Mexican attacking midfielder has already won the U17 World Cup and is now ready to make the jump into FC Barcelona's first team. He has already been playing in Barcelona's B team and is currently touring in Asia with the big stars. It will be interesting to see if Rijkard will give him some playtime this season. Great potential and if he lives up to the hype Barcelona may have picked the right youngster once again.

Ballack-Robben Package!!!
Rumors, rumors, rumors. As every summer the transfer market is hot. The newest rumor is that Real Madrid has offered Chelsea 40million EU (about $54m) for Ballack and Robben. Mourinho seems not to count too much with Ballack for the coming season and Real wants to take the opportunity to sign the mid-fielder and winger in one deal. Well, we will see what happens.

Samir Narsi - Pure talent!!!
Olympic Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri is a hot commodity these days. The talented 20 year old is being compared with Zidane and a number of important European clubs have shown interest to sign him. Especially Real Madrid has been named in conjunction with the player. At his young age he is already a key player in his team and has also joined the French National Team. He is fast, strikes the ball well with both feet, has great technique, and likes to take on defenders. He is surely a youngster to watch. Do you think he will become a world star?

George Weah a great striker from the 90s!!!
Many people may not be very familiar with George Weah, but in the mid- 90s he was one of the most exciting strikers on the planet (not to mention that he won the Golden Ball in 1995). He was lightning fast, had great technique and superb finish. Take a look in case you are not familiar with him. A striker to remember.

Freddy Adu to Europe!!!
Freddy Adu has finally made the jump to Europe joining Benfica in Portugal. This will be probably a good starting ground for the 18 year old. He will be able to grow in a good team and can even get some exposure in the Champions League this coming season. We look forward to see him grow as a player. Do you think he will adapt well to European soccer and become a star?

Kaka- Baptista transfer rumors!!!
There are rumors that Julio Baptista might be going to AC Milan for 20 million Euros (about $27m). Furthermore, Real Madrid seems to be still insisting in getting Kaka to dress in white the next season. Rumors have it that they will offer this week AC Milan 90 million Euros (over $120 million)for the player. We will see how this summers trading season ends. Do you think he is worth that much and should he move to Madrid?
C. Ronaldo vs. Messi

Daniel Alves - Right Back Wonder!!!
In my opinion Daniel Alves (still Sevilla FC) is currently the best right back in the world. Many consider him the MVP in the Spanish league during the last season. He does it all, playing as right back or right wing, but I like him better in the back because he can surprise the other team with his runs. He was one of the top assist givers, has speed, great one on one, incredible stamina (runs all the time), defends, attacks, powerful kick, nice set plays, winner mentality, and he even scores.
He is just a well rounded player that can influence the game from the right side. Many big teams are after him, with Chelsea being especially interested. If I were a manager, he would be on top of my list as well. So what do you think, anybody better in his position at the moment? How much would you pay for him?

Ajax 94/95, a team to remember!!!
Going back a decade there was a team that outplayed everybody. I still remember watching the Champions League that year and enjoying every game they played. It was the golden boys of Ajax in 94/95 when they won the CL.
They were pure speed and youth (average age 24). I am sure you recognize many of their names: Van der Sar, Reiziger, Blind, Rijkaard, Bogarde, R. de Boer, Finidi George, Seedorf, Kanu, Litmanen, Overmars, Kluivert.
After that they sold many of their players and since then Ajax has not been the same anymore.
Watch some of their videos, it was pure attacking soccer.

John Terry on top $$$$!!!
John Terry has signed a new contract with Chelsea for £7m a year (about $14million), which makes him the highest paid player in Premier League history. Is he worth that much? What do you think?
NEWS!!! Reyes to Atletico Madrid!!
After spending one year playing at Real Madrid (but still belonging to Arsenal), Reyes will go the next season to Atletico Madrid. The winger has been signed (almost 100%) for 12 million Euros (about $16 million). Do you think he will succeed at Atletico Madrid?

Why not start this blog with two of the best or even the best players in the history of this sport.
Many argue that one of these two is the greatest of all time. What do you think?
Looking forward to read your comments.
